You see that cord under your baby's tongue? That's called a "frenum" or "frenulum." You also have one under your lips. It's totally normal to have a frenulum, so what makes it "tied"? When the frenulum under the tongue is too short or too tight, it impairs the tongue's placement and mobility, resulting in dysfunction of the swallow, speech, and breathing. This could mean difficulties with breastfeeding for your infant, speech articulation for your developing child and sleep issues if your child mouth-breathes. Not sure what to do about it? No worries! We had the absolute best experience with Dr. Tracy and her team! They did my son’s tongue and lip tie releases, and I couldn’t be more grateful. Dr. Tracy is so sweet, gentle, and incredibly caring. Great doctor and great staff. Dr Tran finally diagnosed my son with a tongue tie after his pediatrician kept dismissing my concerns with open mouth posture and mouth breathing. Dr Tran diagnosed him two years ago but we need to wait for him to be treated due to age. He received upper and lower expander a month ago and I in awe of how well he took it and the change one month has made. Staff is very kind, welcoming, and accommodating. Can’t wait to see the final results!

Tracy Tran and her team were wonderful with my two-year-old son. Dr. Tran explained the complex issues that come with narrow pallet, breathing obstructions, and mouth breathing and is helping us expand his pallet to correct them. Heather in the front office scheduled us and was extremely thorough and organized. Looking forward to working with this team for the foreseeable future.

We have used Dr. Tran for both of our daughters lip and tongue tie revisions. Both girls had to be put under anesthesia for the revisions, which couldn’t have gone more smoothly. I was extremely nervous, but Dr Tran, her staff and Dr Garcia, the anesthesiologist, were very understanding, comforting, and thoroughly explained the process. As Dr. Tran came highly recommended to us, we now understand why and absolutely recommend her.

My wife and I went to Dr. Tran for our newborn son’s lip and tongue tie issue. We greatly appreciated the care, attention and detailed explanations that Dr. Tran and her office provided as we made the decision to go through with the procedure.
